The Timeline is one continuous scrapbook of every moment in the journal — all your children together, newest first, grouped under the day it happened. Photos, videos, voice memories and the funny things they said, in the same warm story.

One tap on the button floating above the tab bar and you're in the composer. It asks what you want to remember — photos or video, a voice memory, something written down, or their exact words — and then it's all one screen. Add a couple of pictures, record ten seconds of the giggling that came with them, type the line you don't want to forget, and save it as one moment.
The small things are already filled in. The date comes off the earliest photo you picked, so a memory from Sunday lands on Sunday even if you get around to it on Tuesday.

A diary, not a grid
Moments sit under soft day dividers — Today, Yesterday, then the date — so scrolling feels like turning pages rather than trawling a photo grid. Photos bleed to the edge of a soft-cornered card with the words tucked underneath, and even a very tall or very wide picture is gently reined in so no single shot hijacks the feed.
Not every memory is a photo. A voice memory gets a card with the length of the recording, their exact words get warm italics and a quote mark, and a thought you only had time to type gets a card of its own. Tap any of them to open the moment in full.

One sheet, no clutter
Every filter lives in a single slide-up sheet: which child, milestones only, and any of your tags. The feed updates live behind it as you toggle, and the sheet hides sections that wouldn't help — no child picker with one child, no milestone switch until something is marked a first.
Nothing is sticky. Filters clear themselves when you leave, so the timeline you come back to is always the whole story.
- Pick several tags at once to see moments carrying any of them
- Only tags actually used here are offered, so a filter never leads nowhere
- Whatever you filtered by sits under the header — tap the ✕ to drop just one
- A small dot on the filter icon whenever you aren’t seeing everything

Old memories come back on their own
When something happened on this same date in an earlier year, a warm card appears at the top of your timeline with a thumbnail and how long ago it was. Tap it for the full look-back.
It's a plain calendar match across earlier years — never AI, never guessing what you'd like. It follows the same rules about who can see what, so nothing private ever resurfaces to someone outside that journal. And on a day with nothing to look back on, the card simply isn't there.

Made for one hand, at the end of a long day
The details you only notice when they're missing — the ones that keep the timeline feeling calm however full it gets.
It saves before it uploads
A moment you just captured appears in the timeline straight away, using the photo off your phone, with a quiet spinner while a background queue finishes the upload. A bad connection never blocks the memory.
One tap deeper
Open a moment to press and hold a photo to make it the cover, heart it as a favorite, save it to your camera roll, add it to an album, or mark it as a first. Photos open full screen, with pinch to zoom.
Scrolls for years
Twenty moments load at a time and keep coming as you scroll, with a small spinner at the foot of the list. Pull down and the feed, the look-back card, your tags and your milestones all refresh at once.
The title is the switcher
The name at the top of the Timeline is the journal switcher itself — tap it to move between Parents, Grandparents or Daycare. A bell in the corner shows what everyone else has been adding.
Only what you're meant to see
The feed shows the moments shared with everyone plus those in journals you belong to, and nothing else. If someone was invited to look rather than add, the capture button simply isn't there for them.
Never a blank screen
Softly pulsing placeholder cards stand in while the timeline loads, and before there is anything at all it says “Your story starts here” with a button to add the first one. A quiet tally above the feed grows as you scroll.
